Consulting
Do you wish you had more time at the end of your day?
Are you so busy dealing with the everyday tasks of running a business that you can’t focus on the original purpose of your business? I love dealing with the details. It’s what I do best! As your virtual assistant, my purpose is to utilize my skills, experience, and training to provide you with administrative and personal assistance, therefore allowing you more time to do what you do best.
Are you searching for that life balance that you crave?
Let’s be honest. Administrative tasks are not your “thing.” Lucky for you, they definitely are my thing. I am a nurturer by nature. Over years of administrative work, I find that my niche is partnering with other business owners so both of our goals are met. My greatest satisfaction comes from helping others reach their goals – be that professionally, personally, spiritually, or emotionally. Achieving “balance” is crucial to a happy, joy-filled life. As a small business owner, I know how hard that life balance is to achieve on your own. Take a look at my website and see how I can help you.
So what exactly is a virtual assistant? There’s no reason to recreate the wheel here. So click here to visit AssistU’s website for answers to that and other FAQs!

About Me
My professional journey (so far)...
My undergraduate degree is from the University of Missouri-Columbia! M-I-Z!!! I graduated as a Statistics major with a minor in Spanish and an emphasis in Mathematics. Upon graduation, I spent the following 12+ years plugging away in the corporate world. I spent the majority of those years as an office manager for a major multi-million dollar law firm. I handled everything from personnel issues to managing the accounting department. When I wasn’t at the law firm, I was putting in some gratifying years in the non-profit arena.
In 2012 our family was given a redirection in our priorities. Our youngest son was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Taking care of him, his brother, and making sure we were doing everything we could do to ensure a quality life for our entire family brought about my choice to step back from my full-time corporate job. The following three years were spent finding our “new normal.”
Not being one to sit idly by and do nothing, I decided to start my own business. Fortunately, my research lead me to AssistU and their amazing one-on-one 11-week training program and their 16-week Virtual Mentoring Program. As a proud graduate of AssistU, I have access to a terrific and talented community of professionals.

Let's Make it Personal!
My family is both my biggest blessing and my most prized accomplishment. I have been married to my high-school sweetheart for 25 years. We have two amazing sons and two furry canine family members as well. We love soccer, traveling, trying new things, and just being together (most of the time).
I am a complete bookworm. I love to read. I love to read anything and everything. My grandmother taught me at an early age that you can go anywhere, learn anything, and be anyone with a good book. I am a curious person by nature. So I love to try and learn new things. I am always trying to figure out how and why things work the way that they do.
You can often find me writing/blogging, podcasting, public speaking, organizing and/or creating spreadsheets to track what I’m doing, researching, or learning. Along with being a bookworm and writer, I am an organization crazy fool. Yes, it’s my version of fun. I won’t apologize.
I try to live a life of few regrets. It’s not easy, but I work and play hard to enjoy this life that God has blessed me with today. I try to be transparent, honest and understanding. I am strong in my beliefs while being flexible and accepting of others. I hope my children are learning that you can be determined, faithful, and strong to yourself, but willing to accept others’ opposing views. I believe each one of us is proof that God enjoys variety.
Random facts about me
- I often get a “wild hair” to try new things. And my husband is great about humoring me and going along for the ride!
- I cannot carry a tune. Seriously, I’m horrible. But that doesn’t stop me from joining in…especially if it embarrasses my children.
- I. Hate. Feet. I mean I simply cannot stand feet. Have you ever really taken the time to look at them? They’re so awkward. That is why a good pair of shoes is so important in life.
- Laughter is truly a cleanser for my soul. I love to laugh and find the joy in all I do. Life was meant to be fun.
- I was brought up with pretty much all girls in my family. Now I live with all boys. That, I believe, is the definition of karma.
- Traveling is the best education. Nothing teaches us more about the world than traveling to new destinations, trying new things, seeing new things, learning new cultures, celebrating different lifestyles, and exploring new places.
- Learning a new word is extremely exciting to me! (I did mention I am a book nerd, right?!)
- I have never met a stranger! I love to meet new people.

Next Steps
Deciding to partner with a virtual assistant is a big step. Many people don’t know where to start. How about the beginning? First, take a moment to celebrate your decision! It’s not one to be taken lightly. Now, let’s take it one step at a time.
I have found that a simple, but thorough, approach works best in deciding whether a partnership will be mutually beneficial. Yes, I realize it will take time. And if you are here because time is crucial and you don’t have a lot of it, just think about it like this. The more time we spend up front, the better prepared we are to hit the ground running when you’re ready!
If we both feel that partnering together is where we should go next, then we’ll get the paperwork (the boring stuff my attorney says is important) out of the way. I can’t wait to get started!
